LEXINGTON VS.RNE  
Great Game Guys!!  We knew you could do it!!  WE got back in the win column again with a great, hard fought game at RNE.  Here is a recap:
We received the kickoff on the opening series…started off with a couple of runs by Phillip Reese and 2 first downs! Chad Lee got a nice run as did Aaron Williams.  On 3^rd down and 4, Phillip got another first down, then another.  William Joweres had a nice first down run.  (We are really moving the ball!)  Chad Lee had another long run, to get us to the 4 yd. line.  On the next play, Chad runs it in for the touchdown!  Coleman Hunter kicks the extra point…Lexington up 7-0! On RNE’s first possession, they don’t get too much, Kevin Ackim, Jack Loonam, Nolan Auld, Garrett Web, Lucas Darnell, and others had some good tackles and they had to punt it back to us, without getting a first down. We get the ball back, and Phillip Reese makes a nice run, then Chad Lee pitches the ball to Aaron Williams and he races about 50 yards for another quick touchdown!!  Our extra point try is blocked, but the good guys are up 13-0! We kick it off to RNE, and Nolan Auld and Kyle Visser make a great tackle on the returner. Phillip Padgett, Jeff Smith, and Cody Brantley gang tackle the QB on the first play for a sack! Kyle Visser gets a tackle on 2^nd down, then they throw an incomplete pass, so RNE is punting again! Chad Lee has an 8 yd run to start our offensive drive…but on 2^nd down, unfortunately we fumble the ball.

Jack Loonam makes a tackle on RNE’s first possession of the drive.  RNE throws a pass and Kevin Ackim is there to make the tackle.  They throw a deep pass next, and Kevin once again makes the tackle.  They run up the middle, and Kevin and Nolan Auld make the tackle. Then they are tackled again by Nolan, and Jack Loonam for no gain. RNE gets on the scoreboard with a long touchdown pass.  They go for 2, but Kevin pushes the runner out of bounds for no 2 point conversion.  Good guys still lead…13-6. They kick it off to us, Rob Polito gets the kick.  We move the ball again, Aaron Williams has a long run and a first down.  Chad then throws a nice pass to Matt Delquardro.  Phillip Reese runs for about 4 yds, then another couple of yds.  Chad sneaks it across the line on the next play for a first down.  We then have an incomplete pass, and a run for no gain, Chad connects with Aric Bane on a 4 yd pass, but we don’t pick up the 4^th down try. RNE has the ball back, and they get a long run, the runner is tackled by Nolan Auld and Parker McMillian.  Then they are tackled by Jeff Smith. They throw an incomplete pass.  Then they connect on a long pass for a first down, but the receiver is tackled by Parker again.  They throw another incomplete pass, then they throw a pass that bounces off the RNE players hands, and Lucas Darnell dives to catch it…for an awesome interception.  That is how the first ½ ends!  Lexington 13, RNE 6.

We kick off to them to start the 2 half.  They got a long run on their first play, and I’m sorry but I missed who made the tackle on that play.  They throw an incomplete pass next. Garrett Webb, makes a tackle on the next play, then they complete a pass and Lucas Darnell makes the tackle.  They fumble on the next play, and I think Garrett Webb recovered it.  (I’m sorry if that is not correct)  But we got the ball back! We don’t move the ball too much on our next series. On RNE’s next series, the quarterback was about to get sacked,  he pitched the ball at the last second, Garrett Webb, Bill Bortz, and Cody Brantley all chased the runner back and tackled him for about a 20 yd loss!  On the next play, the QB throws a pass that is picked off by Parker McMillian! We have the ball back and Chad and Phillip have some nice runs in the series, but we get a penalty on 4^th and 1 and fumble the snap on 4^th and 6. RNE’s qb keeps the ball and is tackled by Kevin Ackim.  Then the qb is tackled for a loss on the next play.  Lucas Darnell, Jeremy Macdonald, and Bill Bortz tackle RNE player for a loss.  Nolan Auld has an interception on the next play! Phillip Reese has a nice run for a first down on our first play of the drive. Then another run by Phillip and a run by Chad Lee. Then Chad keeps the ball again and runs for about a 25 yd. touchdown!  Phillip scores the 2 pt. conversion. Lexington 21 RNE  6!

We kick it off to them, and it looks like they run it in for a touchdown, but it is called back for a block in the back, then they get an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty.  They are backed up, Nolan Auld tackles the runner behind the line of scrimmage for an 8 yd. loss, then, Bill Bortz sacks the QB for a 7 yd, loss.  They throw incomplete next, so they have to punt it away!  Unfortunately we fumble on the punt return, so they get the ball right back. They throw an incomplete pass, then they connect on a pass but the receiver is tackled by Bill Bortz.  They run it and Garrett Webb tackles the runner for a 2 yd. loss.  They pass it again and Nolan Auld makes the tackle.  They get a penalty, and it is 1^st and 14…Kevin Ackim knocks the pass down. 2^nd and 14..they throw another pass and Nolan and Kris Parker make the tackle for no gain.  3^rd and 14…they complete an 8yd. pass, and are tackled by Garrett Webb and Parker McMillian.  It is 4^th and 6. They try to run it, but are met by Kevin Ackim, Jeff Smith, Zach Johnson, and Robert Mangum at the goal line!  No score!  We get the ball back deep into our territory, at our own goal line and unfortunately, we fumble the ball right back to them.,They score on the next play, but Lucas Darnell denies them of the 2 pt. conversion try.  Score goodguys 21 RNE 12.,RNE tries and onside kick…but the Cats get the ball, and take a knee on their last possession.

We win a good game,and many players had some great plays!  It was good to see dispite some mistakes the Cats still come out with a win…keep working hard guys, and good things will come of it!!
