LEXINGTON at WHITE KNOLL
1^st quarter:
Well, it was the last game of the season against our arch rivals…wish we could have pulled it out…..but you guys played good…we just couldn’t catch a break. #84 received the kick off   W.K. got flagged on first play of the drive for jumping off sides. Preston Doyle keeps it on 1^st and 5, and runs for a 1^st down. William Jowers and Aaron Williams run on the next two plays, but we are sacked on 3^rd down, so Andrew Merritt #85? has to punt it away. Cody Brantley makes the tackle on the punt return. Our defense starts by jumping off sides on W.K. first play. Nolan Auld and Cody Brantley make the tackle on the 1^st and 5.  Lucas Darnell makes the tackle on 1^st down for no gain.  2^nd down, Nolan Auld tips the pass incomplete.  (almost had that interception, Nolan) 3^rd down, Nolan looks like he does get the interception, but he and the receiver both come down with the ball, even though Nolan shows the ref that he ended up with the ball, a tie goes to the receiver, so W.K. catches a big break there. 4^th down they run and Cody Brantley makes the tackle, but not before they get the 1^st down. Edward Hunt makes the tackle on 1^st down, and they throw incomplete on 2^nd down. Garrett Webb makes the 3^rd down tackle and they have to punt it away. Rob Politio runs the ball on 1^st down, and William Steele catches a pass from Preston Doyle for a 1^st down.  Aaron Williams runs on 1^st down, but then we throw 2 incomplete passes, so we have to punt it away again. W.K. is flagged on 1^st down for a motion penalty. Kyle Visser tackles W.K. for a loss.  That’s how the first quarter ends. 0-0

2^nd quarter:
2^nd down for W.K. Nolan Auld and Parker McMillian tackle the runner on 2^nd down, and Nolan and Lucas Darnell tackle them on 3^rd down, so W.K. has to punt it back to us. Devin Drewtis (#34) runs on 1^st down, William Jowers, Aaron Williams and Preston Doyle run on the next 3 plays, but we are stopped on 4^th down. W.K. has ball back, they throw an incomplete pass on 1^st down they run on 2^nd and he is tackled by Lucas Darnell. On 3^rd down they run again, Cody Brantley and Phillip Padgett make the stop, but they get the 1^st down.  Nick Simons sacks the Qb on 1^st down, and Cody and Nick make the tackle on 2^nd.  On 3^rd down they throw a pass that Nolan Auld defends, but they rule it a catch…4^th down, we are unfortunately called for off sides, which gives them the 1^st down.  Qb keeps the ball, but Jack Loonam sacks the Qb for a 2 yd. loss. They throw incomplete twice, and go for it on 4^th down but we stop them.  (Sorry, I didn’t see who that was that stopped them.) Devin Drewtis runs for us on 1^st down, but we fumble on 2^nd down. Jack Loonam gets an interception on the next play and has a nice run after the catch!  We are sacked on 1^st down, Aric Bain catches a 7yd pass from Preston on 3^rd down William Steele gets the ball then laterals it to Matt Delquardro, but unfortunately we get sacked on 4^th down and turn the ball back over to W.K. Bill Bortz tackles the Qb for a loss and time runs out…it is ½ time score still 0-0.

3^rd quarter:
Garrett Webb kicks off for us, Jack Loonam, Lucas Darnell and William Jowers combine on the tackle. 1^st down, Jack Loonam and Cody Brantley tackle the runner for no gain.  2^nd down, Lucas and Nick Simons make the stop. 3^rd down they throw incomplete, they have to punt…but we rough the kicker so W.K. keeps the ball. 1^st down, Phillip Padgett makes a tackle for a loss. 2^nd incomplete and 3^rd down they are stopped by Edward Hunt.  W.K. punts the ball and Matt Delqurdro receives the punt. 1^st down Preston keeps the ball, 2^nd Aaron Williams runs the ball, but we are flagged for holding on the play, still 2^nd down we throw incomplete we are sacked on 3^rd down, and we get our punt blocked and they run it in for a TD.  X-pt. no good…Score 0-6. We fumble on our next series. W.K. runs on 1^st down, Nick Simons and others make the tackle on 1^st down.  Nolan Auld picks off the 2^nd down pass and has a decent run after the catch. We run the ball, with William Jowers, and Preston a few times before the 3^rd quarter ends.

4^th quarter:
We continue to run the ball with Devin Drewtis making some nice runs.  Matt Delqurdro catches a pass from Preston and William Steele catches a very nice TD pass from Preston.  X-pt. is no good!  Score 6-6. Jack Loonam tackles the runner for a loss on 1^st down, Lucas Darnell makes the tackle on 2^nd down and Edward Hunt picks the ball off on 3^rd down! We however turn it right back over to them with an interception. Lucas makes the tackle on 1^st down and Cody  and Lucas combine for the tackle on 2^nd down, they are also called for an illegal receiver downfield.  Cody makes the tackle on the next play, they throw incomplete on 3^rd down and they have to punt…we almost get to the punter, he has to run around a while before he kicks it, it looked like we may get him, but he ends up kicking it away. William Steele catches a pass for Preston on 1^st down we throw incomplete on 2^nd down and we have the ball bounce off of the receiver on 3^rd down that they end up picking off. Lucas makes the tackle on 1^st down, but time runs out…we are going into over time!!
We just come up short from scoring on our OT try, and W.K. kicks a field goal in OT to win it. Tough luck guys…you played well enough to win, just couldn’t get a break!!  Keep working hard and we will see you next year on Friday Nights!! GO WILDCATS!!!!!!
