WILDCATS SUCCUMB TO NORTH AUGUSTA
The varsity basketball team traveled down I-20 to North Augusta on Friday night hoping to somehow stop a 2 game skid as the season winds down.  The Cats who were 2-2 in region play are looking to make the playoffs for the first time in quite a while.  This night did not fall the Wildcats way as North Augusta cruised past the Wildcats 83-69.  Top scorers for the Cats were Adam Wise with 18, and Devonte Taylor with 17. Lexington still has a great chance to make the playoffs with wins over S. Aiken and Aiken next week.  The Wildcats defeated both of these teams early in region play and we have them both at home.  The Wildcats can rebound and make some noise come playoff time.. We need a big crowd for both of these games at home next week!
In the first game of the night the Ladycats took care of business by defeating the Lady Jackets by a final score of 50-41.  Jasmine Council led the Ladycat scoring with 17 points.  The Ladycats are 4-2 in region and are looking to finish region strong with playoff seeding the prize.

TIMBERWOLVES OUTLAST THE WILDCATS

The varsity basketball team hosted the Timberwolves from White Knoll on Monday night.  The cats started off the game with energy and hot shooting led by Felder Leaphart who nailed three 3 pointers in the first quarter.  Foul trouble early led to a few Wildcats taking a seat on the bench for most of the first half. The Wildcats seemed to lose a little steam and couldn't rebound.  Final score was 58-51 in favor of the Wolves. The Wildcats will travel to N. Augusta on Friday to take on the Yellow Jackets.  The Jackets are 5-0 in region play so a win would help the Wildcats playoff chances.
In the first game the Ladycats set it on cruise control and coasted to an easy victory with a final of 54-37.

IRMO PREVAILS THIS NIGHT
In what can only be described as the battle of lackluster teams on Tuesday night, the Wildcats fell short against Irmo.  Neither team could do much on offense as the Wildcats struggle to score.  Nothing was going in, rebounds didn't bounce our way, and a dismal display from the free throw line doomed the Wildcats. Whatever the case was Tuesday night it just wasn't meant to be. The Wildcats only scored 2 points in the first quarter and it didn't get much better as the game progressed. The cats played with intensity, but some nights it happens that no matter what you do the shots just don't fall. The cats pulled close by the end of the first half but Irmo's inside game sealed the cats fate. Final Score was 48-32. The cats fall to 2-2 in region play with a 14-8 overall record. Next up for the Wildcats is a home game on Saturday night vs White Knoll.  We need a big crowd to get behind the Cats.
In the first game of the night the Ladycats lost  to the Lady Jackets by a final of 48-29.  The Ladycats played hard and cut it close at times but the Jackets had the upper hand in this contest.  But the Ladycats will rebound and host the Lady Timberwolves from White Knoll on Saturday night.
