"KUDOS FOR THE CATS"...ONE STEP CLOSER
2007 SCHSL FOOTBALL PLAYOFFS
The 2007 Wildcats traveled to Gaffney Friday night to take on the 2-Time State Champion Indians in the opening round of the 4A Football Playoffs.  For the 1st 28 minutes of the game, the Cats stood toe to toe with a team they were given no chance of competing with...but they did!!  After swapping punts, Gaffney took over on their 1 where #72 Zach Mendenhall dropped a great kick.  The Indians turned loose their vaunted power running attack & pounded upfield, scoring on a 14 yd TD run with 2:01 left in the 1st & took a 7 - 0 lead.  Back came the Wildcats!!  Behind the hard running of #20 Xavier Salley, #35 Anthony Carden & #12 Tradd Hunter.  Aided by a 4th & 7 completion for a 1st down to #34 WR Reese Taylor, the Cats "O" ground down the Gaffney "D" to a 1st & goal at the 8.  #20 Salley bolted in for a 6 yd TD & #9 Tanner Osborne tied the game at 7 - 7!!  WHOOOEEE...we got ourselves a ballgame!!!  Not so fast...with 2:00 left in the half on the ensuing kickoff, the Indians found a seam & ran it back to the Lexington 33.  Gaffney scored with 19 seconds remaining & at the half led 14 - 7. VARSITY CHEERLEADERS PLACE 2ND IN STATE 4AAAA!!
All the work that Shannon Cannady and the varsity cheerleaders have put in this year showed itself during the State Championship last weekend in Greenville.  The Ladycat cheerleaders placed 2nd behind Dorman in the Championship.. This team only carries 2 seniors on the squad so look for great things from them in future years. These girls put alot of work into what they do and they do it well.. In my opinion they are 2nd to none.. What a great group of ladies..Way to go Cheerleaders..You are awesome and made us proud!!

HOW 'BOUT THEM WILDCATS!!!!           LEXINGTON AT WHITE KNOLL
Our Cats traveled right down HWY 6 to do battle with arch-rival White Knoll Friday night.  It was indeed a special event with the dedication of the Timberwolves field house in memory of a fallen serviceman & former student.  The pre-game ceremonies & celebrities along with the military fly-over were certainly an impressive gesture & well done.
