JV Lady Cats Seek Revenge Over North Augusta
The Wildcats took a loss to the Jackets on September 22nd at North Augusta so the girls were fired up and looking for a win.  The game was delayed because North Augusta was late due to the rain.  This did not affect North Augusta because they came out strong pulling ahead to a substantial lead, 13-3.  Things took a positive turn for the Wildcats with a block by Taylor Foster, a kill by Kendall Davis, and 3 aces in a row from Kendall Mixon tying up the score, 20-20.  It was point for point for the rest of the game with Anna Benza tying things up at 24 all.  Lexington pulled out the win, 27-25.  The tables turned in Game Two and the Wildcats pulled ahead, 11-8.  Several great plays happened in a row starting with a kill at the net by Taylor Foster.  Kendall Davis scored with a  shot down the line, and an awesome ace by Olivia Inman made the score 15-9.  The Wildcats never let up and took Game Two 25-15, winning the match 2-0.  Christine Prendergast had 7 kills while Anna Benza had 6.  Anna Benza had 10 assists and  Kendall Mixon had 6.  Christine Prendergast had 9 digs while Jayme Rojek and Cara Connell had 3 each.  Kendall Mixon had 3 aces.

October 13th
JV Wildcats Travel To Dutch Fork,
It was an exciting night of volleyball ball as the Wildcats had already defeated Dutch Fork at home on the September 15th.  The Lady Cats came out strong, pulled ahead and kept the lead winning Game One 25-18.  Game Two proved to be a different story.  The Cats were having trouble with the Foxes’ server, and Dutch Fork scored nine points in a row making it 9-0 for the Foxes.  The girls were never able to gain control and lost Game Two 18-25.  After a talk by Coach White in the huddle, the JV girls came out with a winning attitude.  Dutch Fork pulled ahead and the score was DF 6, LHS 1.  Anna Benza placed one of her great shots to the corner making it 6-2, and a block by Taylor Foster gave the Lady Cats another point making it 6-3.  A kill by Kendall Davis tied things up at 6 all.  Anna Benza pulled off 3 aces in a row, two of them were lobs that Dutch Fork was not ready for, making the score LHS 11, DFHS 7.  Dutch Fork did make a comeback tying things up at 12-12, but the Wildcats held firm and won Game Three 15-13, the match 2-1.  Anna Benza had 7 kills, while Taylor Foster had 6 and Kendall Davis 5.  Anna Benza topped the night with 10 assists, and Kendall Mixon had 6.  Makaela McCatha had 6 digs.  Anna Benza also had 6 aces.

JV Wildcats Travel to North Augusta,
The Lady Cats went on the road to take on the North Augusta Yellow Jackets.  To open the night, rightside hitter Kendall Davis made a cut which sent the ball falling inside the 10 foot line tying things up 2-2.  The game was neck and neck, but the Yellow Jackets started ticking off point by point and the Lady Cats were down 7-13.  Kendall Davis had a great shot making it 8-13 and Jayme Rojek had a kill at the net making the score 9-13.  Play continued with an awesome recovery off of the ceiling by Lexington making it 11-17.  Jayme Rojek came up for service and brought the Lady Cats back into the game bringing the score to LHS 19, NAHS 23.  Brianna West had a great tip at the net making it 20-23 and then a great hit by Kendall Davis brought the score to 22-24.  The JV could not pull it out in the end and lost the game 22-25.  Game Two started out point for point and a great shot by Makaela McCatha tied it up 5-5.  A great kill by Lyn Lehman made the score 7-5.  Several exciting shots happened in a row beginning with a kill at the net by Jayme Rojek; then, a corner shot by Lyn Lehman; and an ace on the line by Tessa Trail.  These plays brought the score to Lexington 14, North Augusta 10.  The Lady Cats continued to move along steadily with a gentle tip by Jayme Rojek making the score 16-14.  At this point, North Augusta got fired up and put pressure on our girls with the short shots.  The Cats had trouble covering the holes and the score was soon tied 23-23.  The Yellow Jackets  scored the next point, and, then, our setter was called over the line at the net for the final point giving the win to North Augusta 25-23.  The Yellow Jackets won the match 2-0.  Lyn Lehman had 5 kills while Kendall Davis and Jayme Rojek had 4.  Kendall Mixon had 8 assists.  Jayme Rojek had 6 digs and 5 aces.

Lexington Volleyball Participates in Tri-Match at Dorman,
Dorman High School, Southside Christian School and Lexington High School were the three teams participating in this Tri-Match at Dorman.  Each school brought their JV teams which made for an exciting night of volleyball.  The JV girls opened up against Southside Christian.  The Lady Cats took game one 25-16 with Olivia Inman giving a surprise back set over the net for a point during the game.  The girls took game two 25-9 with Jayme Rojek providing an ace to score the winning point.

Match two found the JV up against Dorman which proved to be a greater challenge.  The girls fought hard and were down 10-12 in the first game when Makaela McCatha  provided 2 aces to tie the game 12-12.  That just wasn’t enough momentum, and the Cavaliers took the game 25-21.  In game two, the Wild Cats were solid and played well.  This proved good for them and allowed the girls to take game two 25-20.  The Lady Cats had a rough start in game three and could not pull it back together losing 25-13.  This gave the match to Dorman.

Sept 10th
JV Wildcats vs. Orangeburg-Wilkinson
The Lady Cats went up against the Bruinettes with a  sweeping first game win.  Kendall Davis served 7 in a row to give the Wildcats a great start at 7-0.  OW scored a few points after that on Lexington jump serves, and the game ended with  a large point spread 25-7.  OW began to warm up a little in game 2 and started scoring a few points, but Jayme Rojek came up for service scoring 4 in a row making the game 11-4.  A great corner shot by Kendall Mixon made the game 12-4.  An interesting play occurred in this game when an OW player had the ball hit off her leg.  In the past, this would have been a lift, but due to the changes in the USAV rules, a ball can be played legally off of any part of your body.  This play gave OW a point, but still left them behind at 6-16.  The game ended with a great corner shot by Christine Prendergast making it a win for Lexington 25-14.  Setter, Tessa Trail, had 7 assists.  Jayme Rojek had 3 kills and 2 digs.  Kendall Davis and Jayme Rojek had 4 aces each.
